The highly anticipated 128th Boston Marathon is set to take place on Monday, April 15, 2024. Tens of thousands of eager athletes from across the globe will converge on the streets of Boston for the historic race.
Event Schedule
The Boston Marathon will utilize a wave start system for participants. The first wave of runners will be sent off at approximately 10:00 AM, with subsequent waves following at staggered intervals.
The race will begin at Hopkinton Green and conclude at Copley Square in Boston. The professional men and women will start first, followed by the wheelchair participants and then the recreational runners.

For those unable to attend the event in person, live coverage will be available on WCVB beginning at 4:00 AM.
Previous Winners
The 2023 Boston Marathon saw Sisay Lemma of Ethiopia and Hellen Obiri of Kenya emerge as the victors in the men's and women's divisions, respectively.
